On the remote mountain top, above the mining town of Cerro Gordo in California we were in the midst of augmenting our site with additional batteries to harness and store solar energy. There were discussions, plans, and work was going on energetically. As we toiled away above this historic ghost town, we had no idea we were about to receive a visit from a rather unusual guest.
It was late afternoon when we first noticed it – a large figure, taller than the tallest human, lurking at the edge of our site. Its silhouette seemed oddly out of place, standing stark against the backdrop of our busy work site. There was something eerily familiar about it. It wasn’t long before we recognized who our visitor was – a Sasquatch, a Bigfoot! We instantly recalled the Sasquatch from our recent movie, and we couldn’t help but feel a thrill of excitement at this strange, unexpected visit.
This Sasquatch seemed just as intrigued by us as we were by him. He watched us work with what seemed to be curiosity, his large eyes observing every movement. He seemed particularly interested in the batteries we were installing. Perhaps he was fascinated by the idea of harnessing energy from the sun, or maybe he was simply amused by our human antics. Either way, his presence seemed benign and non-threatening.
Curiosity piqued, the Sasquatch began exploring the Cerro Gordo site. He ventured into the building. We watched as he examined the radio equipment with a gentle touch, and even climbed part way up the tower
His presence soon became a part of our routine, and the initial shock and awe soon morphed into acceptance and even fondness. We came to realize that much like us, this Sasquatch was a being driven by curiosity and a desire to understand the world around him.
At the end of the day our project at Cerro Gordo was completed, we watched the Sasquatch for the last time. He watched us pack up and prepare to leave with a kind of melancholic understanding in his eyes. As the sun set on Cerro Gordo, he retreated back into the wilderness, disappearing as quietly as he had appeared.
Our encounter with the Sasquatch brought an unexpected twist to our project at Cerro Gordo, but it also brought a whole new perspective. Our Bigfoot visitor, with his gentle curiosity, reminded us of the wonder and mystery that still exists in the world, something as humans, we often forget. Whether it was the Sasquatch’s fascination with us or our work, we’ll never know. But his visit added a flavor of adventure and excitement to our work at Cerro Gordo that we will always remember.
